Crossing Guards (Two Positions)

We are seeking two crossing guards to work for the Bicentennial Heritage Fair June 1-3, 2012

Responsibilities will include:

• Directing or escorting pedestrians across streets, stopping traffic as necessary.
• Guiding or control vehicular or pedestrian traffic at street crossings
• Communicating traffic and crossing rules and other information to students and adults.
• Directing traffic movement or warn of hazards, using signs, flags, lanterns, and hand signals.
• Informing drivers of detour routes through construction sites.
• Learn the location and purpose of street traffic signs within assigned patrol areas.

Hours: 

• Friday June 1,  12:00 - 5:00
• Saturday June 2, 10:00 - 8:00
• Sunday June 3, 10:00 - 5:00

Pay:
$11 per hour

Traffic Controllers (Four Positions)

• Guiding or control vehicular or pedestrian traffic at street closures
• Communicating traffic and crossing rules and other information to visitors
• Directing traffic movement or warn of hazards, using signs, flags, lanterns, and hand signals.
• Informing drivers of detour routes through construction sites.
• Learn the location and purpose of street traffic signs within assigned patrol areas.
• Allowing residents vehicular access to closed streets

Hours: 

• Friday June 1,  12:00 - 5:00
• Saturday June 2, 10:00 - 8:00
• Sunday June 3, 10:00 - 5:00

Pay:
$11 per hour

Security Guards (Two Positions)

We are seeking two Security Guards to work for the nights of June 1 and 2, 2012.

Responsibilities will include:

• Patrol fair premise to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure security of gates, fences and tents
• Answer alarms and investigate disturbances.
• Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of vendors, visitors, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security of premises.
• Report on nightly activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences.
• Call police or fire departments in cases of emergency, such as fire or presence of unauthorized persons.
• Circulate among vendors, visitors and volunteers to preserve order and protect property.

Hours: 

• Friday June 1,  9 PM to 9 AM on Saturday
• Saturday June 2, 9 PM to 9 AM on Sunday

Pay:
$15 per hour
