This was never more so important than in 1812. Men of varying ages would be required to participate in militia practices each year, usually in June or July. These Militia Muster Rolls usually involved presenting oneself for practice and payment of annual dues. Watch as re-enactors host a mock militia muster roll, where local men will be solicited to practice and pay dues as part of the regular annual militia service of the 1800s. Re-enactors will set up camp on a the front lawnand stage rolls on Mill grounds. Return to the Bicentennial Heritage Weekend home page for more great events. |
