Friends of the Mill … community volunteering at its best

You don't have to come to meetings though you are welcome. You don't have to donate money though that's welcome too. We just need your time, energy and great ideas. There's lots to do but you can choose how much free time you have to help. Here's how:
  • Our park is enjoyed by many for walks and picnics beside the river. You can help us make improvements and keep it weed free and beautiful for the Spencerville community and visitors
  • We offer a number of terrific events and special exhibits over the summer but we need assistance starting with planning and promotion plus setting up chairs & tables, taking tickets, selling refreshments and cleaning up
  • We need on-line and Facebook savvy Friends of any age to help keep our website updated, promote what's happening at the Mill and post photos or graphics.
  • We've done some excellent special exhibits such as a Heritage Quilt Show, Vintage Toys and Kitchens before Convenience. More are planned but we need volunteers to do outreach and obtain items, set-up displays, write information cards and take shifts during the exhibit
  • Barnard's Emporium is a wonderful heritage store selling crafts, kids clothing, accessories, preserves and more. Our talented manager needs volunteers to help with sales especially during events, help keep the store tidy and suggest new vendors. Call Lois on this one at: 613 258-4749
  • We offer training to volunteers interested in giving tours of the Mill to visitors during the summer or on Sundays in the fall and spring
To contact the Mill directly email: spencervillemill@icloud.com or call 613-658-5885
You can also call Mill Foundation Board members: Sandra at 613 657-1931 or Sheila at 613 658-5290
